Wishing Well: The REALTORS® Association of Maui (RAM) has always believed in the importance of education. And while Maui is an exquisite place where many of the world’s wealthy come to relax, there is also an often forgotten island community. Of the 21,000 children attending Maui County public schools, approximately 45% of them need some sort of assistance to meet their basic needs so that they can focus on succeeding in school.

RAM initially decided to take action with a scholarship fund and in 1989 we awarded our first $1000 scholarship. Currently, the grand total of monies awarded since 1989 is more than $310,000!

In 2007, RAM felt ready to take on another project, so REALTORS® Wishing Well…for Maui Students was born. The idea is simple – each Maui County public school Principal was asked what his/her school needed. From there, a 50 page Wish List was created, at least one REALTOR® coordinator per school was recruited, and hard work commenced.

Mission Statement: To improve the educational experiences and opportunities of students of Maui County’s public schools by identifying specific needs and coordinating resources of potential donors with individual schools in the receipt of goods, services, and monetary funds.
